I just received this website from Mr. Summerville of KTVU. I am the woman who recently wrote to him and he posted my email and picture on his Facebook page. I am suffering right now from a serious bout of anxiety and depression. A disease I have struggled with my entire life. I told Frank in my email that I was tired and did not know if I had the strength to go on….even for the night. Over one million people responded to me… Sending hope well wishes and prayer. You would think this would help…. But I am still struggling….sometimes with more anxiety because I feel the need to respond to everyone. Mental illness is a horrible disease. I would not wish it on anyone. I watched the trailer to your film. It made me cry…as does everything anymore. I hope I am around to watch the documentary in its entirety. What you are doing should have been done years ago.
Sincerely,
Christine Stout

Dear Christine,
My heart goes out to you. Those of us who have suffered in these ways with mental illness share a very special connection. Until you’ve been through it it’s almost impossible to understand how bleak the world can be. But I understand.
This is a wonderful SF resource you may be familiar withhttp://www.sfsuicide.org/ Their crisis hotline is:
415/781-0500 in San Francisco, CA
800/273- TALK (8255) outside of San Francisco
If there’s one thing I’m positive about, it’s that we cannot take chances with these illnesses. It’s always better to pick up the phone –– even though depression is convincing us that nothing can make us feel better. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Don’t worry about replying to everyone. Just get through today and make sure you are getting the medical care and support you deeply deserve. It will get easier. With love,
Meg
Hi Chris!! Hope you’re doin’ well, from Lima,Peru…Fernando. Oh! I suggest you to read Meister Eckhart, he is a great German old writer from the middle ages, his reading can help you, GOD bless you Christine.
I live in the Chicago area and I hope you will be bringing this film to Chicago later this year. If you do, please let me know at least a couple of weeks in advance so I can help get the word out. Thanks very much!
P.S. I am also a Simon’s Rock alumna.
Just saw your film tonight in Lexington, MA: so powerful. I hope you bring it back to this area again soon. Thank you to you and your family for your courage and honesty and openness.
Hey,
I also have Bipolar disorder and I live in the great(snark) state of Texas. I have been spending my free time trying to locate a doctor so that I can get back on my medication.
It has been an extremely depressing and soul killing adventure.
But, I have a job(career?) and I somehow function.
Just today I have been listening to Megs’ music.
I have an IPOD and I have all her albums on a playlist.
Beautiful!!!! (“Seeing Stars”, “Beyond That”) Just a few.
I think it has helped me.
I am really interested in seeing her film.
So that maybe I “Can come up full”.
Can’t wait to see this film. The clips alone, convinced me that this would be a better documentary than others I’ve seen. Boy, have we been thru it! 15 years,14 hospitalizations. You know nothing in the beginning, just like her mom didn’t.
